Shaver Lake, CA

Enjoy four season recreation in the Sierra Nevada mountains!

Situated at 5300' elevation and a one hour drive from Fresno, Shaver Lake is typically 10-20 degrees cooler than California's Central Valley. 

The unique town of Shaver Lake is the perfect blend of restaurants, hangouts, and shops.  Upon arrival, enjoy pizza, hamburgers, ice cream, draft beer and more in the local establishments.  Coffee shops and breakfast can be found if you want to start your day without cooking at the cabin.  A few small stores offer groceries, souvenirs, and any other forgotten supplies.  Visit the gift shops for a cherished memento to bring home.  

Trails abound near the lake and in the surrounding granite mountains, including routes for hiking, biking, and even OHV or other off road activities.  

Of course, there is also the lake itself!  Any number of water sports can be enjoyed with multiple marinas nearby for boat or paddle board rental.  Or pull up a spot at a local day use area and take in the sun and cool mountain water by the shore.  

Want to get to even cooler temps?  Huntington Lake is only a half hour drive higher.  Believe it or not, this alpine lake is known for its sailing, and hosts competitions every year.  Neighboring China Peak resort is a local best kept secret for skiing and summertime mountain bike adventures.
